The outside zipper is inoperable as an opening. It zips, but it is sewn down inside, so it doesn’t open at all. Even if it did, the shaft is too narrow for my ankle. I do have thicker ankles, so I couldn’t get these zipped past the bone. And tight to that point. So 170 is too much to pay to leave my boot unzipped halfway down. Also, the lug sole is thicker on the back outside which seemed awkward to me. Otherwise, if there was more shaft room, I probably would have kept. The inside lining was soft. I have other Spring Step booties that are perfect, but these didn’t work for me.

I had a hard time getting the boots on, too tight around my ankle. I did manage to get the boot on my right foot and my foot fit comfortably in the shoe, about a 1/2 inch room at the toe. I have had 2 pairs of boots by Spring Step boots and found them to be perfect in every way, comfortable, support for my arches and they’re beautiful. So were these, just too sleek in the ankle. Thanks

Ok, these are great boots-style, price, But I have one foot that is not in good shape – injury prevents some shoes from being comfortable. I highly recommend these boots for everyone else!
